Have you ever wondered how many people don’t have health insurance? There are many people out there who cannot afford to buy health insurance. Families with low incomes cannot afford to buy health insurance, which means they cannot visit the doctor to get treated when they are ill. Many families either wait for the symptom to go away or do not get the proper care that they need. They have been serving the town of Douglas County, Kansas for twenty years, helping out patients for a full year for just three-hundred and sixty dollars. This includes appointments, referrals, medications, x-rays, and tests. This would benefit many El Paso families if something similar to what Health Care Access has done. There would be less sick families, knowing now that they can go seek the care that they need. This is a very important issue that they should take seriously. There are many sick children who cannot get medical help due to the fact that the family has no health insurance.
In order for this to happen the city needs to step in and do something about this. We need to be more considerate about the people in our community and help out as much as we can. This task seems hard but it is really not. There can be many generous donors who can donate to this great cause. Hospitals can provide volunteers and medical supplies. It is something that we need to do as a community in order to help each other out.
The Health Care Access website is very helpful. They explain what the cause is and why they do it. They also go on and talk about the benefits that the patients receive. The
website also gives the viewer information on where the money that you donate goes to and how they turn a single dollar into six dollars. What this group does is very admirable and definitely necessary for the less fortunate members of our community. Having clinics like this in El Paso would help prevent life threatening illnesses, and would also help make this a safer place for everyone. Another reason why clinics like this are necessary is because they would take away the need to travel to Mexico in order to be treated. El Paso residents could easily be treated here, for a very affordable cost.
This idea that the Health Care Access group came up with is something that every community could benefit from. There are always going to be people in need of health care, that is why it is so important to have clinics like this available. Clinics like this would eliminate that desperate feeling some families experience when health problems come their way.
