Many families cannot get medical attention due to financial reasons. Not all families have health insurance and can go to the doctor whenever they feel the need for medical attention. This is something that we should take into serious consideration. Something needs to be done about this quickly in order to be able to attend sick patients with no health benefits. What needs to be done about this is to somehow find a way to open up clinics around low income neighborhoods, which would cater to families who would not be able to afford healthcare otherwise. By doing this we can attend the needy and get them the proper care that they need in a timely manner. Young children should be taken into consideration because they do not have such a strong immune system and can get sick quicker. Providing medical attention to those in need would also help avoid any additional medical problems that may come up in the future for these individuals.
Small organizations such as Health Care Access located in Lawrence, KS are opened to families with low income. Some of the services they offer include inexpensive health care plans to families with a one year payment. This also includes appointments, medication, x-rays, etc. Clinics like Health Care Access should be opened to help out families who are in need of medical attention, but don’t have health insurance which makes everything that much more expensive and somewhat unattainable. By setting up clinics like this, we can reduce the number of sick children attending school and keep

the percentage of sick kids at school at a very low number. By doing this, more money goes to the schools and in return we can use some of that money to hire more nurses that would be able to check more students out at a faster pace.
Health benefit plans are getting taken away from more jobs every year due to their price increase. What is beginning to occur is that more and more employees are unable to afford the plans and the suppliers are not willing to pay for that benefit if only a small amount of employees apply for it. This may end up affecting the middle class families whose employer’s refuse to provide health benefits. Another service that could also serve as an option to some families would be privately owned health insurance that is available for you to buy. This is an alternative but at the same time is quite expensive to have. Most of the rates for this type of coverage are definitely higher than if you purchased your coverage through an employer. All of this eventually leads to more families not having health care, which in turn also means more families who will not be able to get medical attention when needed.
